Young & Rubicam needed to sell-in their take on the toy store’s classic line, “The World’s Biggest Toy Store.” They asked me describe what joy was to a child, and how toys evoke that emotion. “The World’s Joy Store” was born and this manifesto become the :60 launch spot to the campaign. The VO who read this script had to stop several times during the record because she was emotional thinking about her childhood and her daughter. (I’m sure the fact that we were pumping a John Williams’ score into her headphones added to the effect).
